Cookbooks ~ Week of November 12, 2011

This week they had a lot of new great books…The Family Meal, The Meatball Shop, Momofuko Milk Bar, Food 52, Cook Like a Rock Star, Alton Browns, and Cookiedia. Was exciting to see all these new books after the great selection from last week, yet another large selection this week.

But, these are the only ones I am interested in owning. In fact these are on my buy list NOW. I loved these books. Tea with Bea an amazing book…surprise! Dessert with Michel Roux I knew would be a good book, I have others by him. The Choclatique by Ed Engoron was the best of them all!! I Loved it!! It is so fun to go and get to look and try them before buying them.

Oh my goodness gracious…..I got so excited when I went to the library today it took me three trips to the car ~ it did, now that is a great day! Now do you see what an amazing resource the library is…..so what is keeping you from going? There is some great new books in this stack can you make out some of them? I will list my favorites later ~ K

Well, you can always tell the holiday season is not far away by the amount of cookbooks coming out. They want to gain that extra buying power the holidays bring. With the amount of cookbooks I own and then amount I have read over the years I should be an expert…by now. Some are great ~ some are okay and some should not even waist the paper….sadly enough some of the even more popular ones are the worse ones. So look before you buy! Big names does not mean a good book.

So, funny just got an e-mail they have 20 more books for me that came in today…so jump in your car and go to your local library. Then you to can enjoy the fun. I order them on line and they hold them in a bin. I run in the library and check them out, I am in and out in 5 minutes. I love the library!! Thanks ladies!!!

This is the books from the library this week isn’t it a wonderful selection? The only book that made it to the wish list is the Tart Love book. Some great books. I did not get to post last weeks selections just too busy sorry!!

But, I did buy a few this week, here are the ones I purchased. I know it looks as if I went a little over board ~ I did oh dear me! Just some great books!

This is my favorite Magazine ~ Yep Gardens and GunsThis month issue is on Southern Food…image that! Gardens and Guns always has at least one article on southern food. I love this magazine! I always get some funny looks when I have it with me ~ like seriously are you going to read that? Oh bang ~ of course I am it is my favorite! REALLY? Yes, it is!! Really!

This is the stack of books I picked up today at the local library…isn’t it great. They have such a wonderful selection!! I get to take them home and enjoyed them for 2 weeks. Well, I sat down last night and went through every last one of them. No, none lucky enough to get to the buy list? But looky what was in my mail box today ~

This is a book I have wanted and ordered 2 times over the last 2 years and it was back ordered. Wow what a book ~ was in it’s own box wrapped in tissue. The book is covered in a nubuck soft leather?  It is a beautiful book a picture for almost every page.

Maison Lauree opened a store in New York yesterday….someone please go and bring me some of those wonderful macarons please oh pretty please!
