Hello ~ well let me start by saying I am not a writer. This I know….but, I do love to cook. I love to try new foods, new restaurants and any thing to do with food. I need a way to journal what I am doing and share recipes with my friends so here goes ~ I guess I am a blogger now. I have a real love for cookbooks ~ I have collected them for many years now and have some where over 2000 ~ yes, 2000! I no longer buy many since I have so many….I go to the library and check them out and believe me they have a wonderful selection. Better than the bookstore. I am known at the library as the cookbook lady ~ oh dear me. From time to time I find some I cannot live without and do go out and buy a few. I love to take classes in many related subjects on cooking. I grew up in the country and spent a good part of my life there. Married a Greek boy and wow what a mix that is a Mississippi girl and a Greek Family! So, I have cooked everything from road kill to spanakopita to macarons. I have lived in the south most of my life. Welcome to my Southern way of life!

I can attest to how delicious the “Homemade Yeast Rolls” are. One of the main reasons I attend neighborhood luncheons is to get ‘Angela’s rolls’! This is a great website, and I look forward to trying many of the recipes here. Thank you, Angela!!

Hi there! I am the next in line for the FoodBlogSouth telephone recipe contest. Looking for your recipe for the roasted chicken! Can’t wait to see what you’ve done! Your recipes on your blog sound good!
Angie. I was sooo excited to find yoour recipe for the ham/shrimp sauce over the risotta cakes. I am a native Savannain and Garibaldi’s was my 1st really nice resteraunt to eat at a young teenager long before City Market was established and made a lasting culinary impression of. I’m sure it has chaged hands thru the years but when i go home and visit, It’s a MUST for my hubby to dine at and we enjoy it every time!! My oldest daughter moved to Sav’h to finish college and live near our family and Garibaldi’s is also her Favorite fine dining restaurant !!! My hubby and I moved away 23 years ago and finding this recipe brought me back to my home and family I miss so very much. I too, Love to cook and look foward to reading your blog and recipes. Thanks a Million!!!! Angie

Great to hear from you. We tried to talk our son to going to Savannah too looks like it will be New York or Mississippi we will know in 2 months his choice scary ! My baby is leaving the nest….I am going to have a break down !! smiles and happy cooking….Angie
I just found your site i think intrested.
I am having trouble getting the cream cheese layer of Aunt Dee’s pound cake to actually be on the top when the cake is done. It seems to be absorbing into the cake as it cooks. Any suggestions????
Shirley,Shirley, There is 3 different things I would think would greatly effect the out come ~
1. Have “ALL” your ingredients at room temperature.
2. The cake mix calls for 3 eggs and you should only add 2 eggs ?
3. I mix my cheese cake layer pretty well too, until it is really smooth no lumps. Must be room temperature to achieve this consistency.
Mine does come out almost like 2 distinct layers. I hope this helps sorry you are having trouble. I hope the next time it comes out perfectly for you! Smiles, Angie
